Welcome to the Department
The Department of Chemistry is one of the largest departments at the faculty with more than 200 employees.
The department offers courses and programs at all levels; from beginners to advanced studies.
Several assessments have indicated that our students are very pleased with their education, that they are well prepared for tomorrows labour market and that they are attractive for employers both in industry and academia.
Although there is an ongoing economical recession, the labour market for chemists is not to bad. Considering the expected shortage of chemists the future perspective appears to be good.
Although we seldom realise it, chemistry is important in our daily life as well as in many different areas of modern science. The reseach at the department is grouped into three fields with a strong focus on multidisciplinary initiatives.
