Tobias Sparrman: Dynamics from molecular to global scale
The research projects cover theoretical and practical aspects of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), and focus on the possibility to detect molecular dynamics.
Reorientational dynamics/order in biomembrane systems and protein denaturation is studied using quadrupolar nuclei and dipolar recoupling techniques under magic angle spinning. Translational diffusion processes in potential drug delivery systems are studied with PFG- NMR. In an interdisciplinary earth science project we are using NMR spectroscopy to address climate related issues, i.e. regulation of carbon cycling in frozen soils.
